April 20, 2009 – Cupertino, CA – Apple approved Underworld: SweetDeal, a location-based MMOG developed by A-steroids, for distribution through App Store.

The title’s prequel, Underworld: DrugLords, has been widely discussed in major tabloids and the blogosphere since its unofficial release to a limited beta testing community in January, 2009.

Underworld is a series of unique location-based massively multiplayer online games which simulate trading of various goods in the global black market. Using GPS inside the iPhone and iPod Touch, the players discover a parallel world based on underground economy. The goal is to find good deals in locations the player goes to in real life and to make profit by moving the merchandise around.

Underworld: SweetDeal is available as a free app with a few paid extensions and is rated 9+ for Infrequent Mature/Suggestive Themes, Cartoon or Fantasy Violence. The game received Apple’s approval to great satisfaction of the raving fans who had been following the development for months, some of them involved in beta testing.
