Disclaimer: I do not condone jailbreaking of your iPodTouch/iPhone/iPad or any Apple Devices as it will effectively void your warranty and Apple will know even if you restore your devices. What I review is only for research & analytical review of the good & bad of jailbreaking. Jailbreaking without prior knowledge may cause instability & frequent crashes which will destroy the overall experience of the phone. Jailbreak at your own risk.

This is a review for the jailbroken iPad Application call “TVOut 2″ beta version which is currently updating in the versions as we speak.

Note that once the beta copy is fully completed without further bugs it will be released by the developer to cydia store.

However, if you want to test out the beta copy of this app follow the steps below.

Jailbreak your iPad using Spirit (working for Mac OS, window might have errors)

Go to http://iphonetvoutlandscape.forumcircle.com/viewtopic.php?t=150

Register for the forum & log into the forum

Download the “tvout2.deb.zip” & unzip it

Go Cydia & download “OpenSSH”

Use your favorite FTP/SSH program (I use Filezilla) to transfer the “tvout2.deb” into /tmp/ folder in your iPad (Username: root, Default Password: alpine)

GET iSSH from iTunes (Free cydia app “mobile terminal” not working for iPad at this moment)

Configure your iSSH to connect to your iPad own IP Address (use SBSetting to see your iPad IP address)

Use iSSH to navigate to /tmp/ folder on your ipad (You need to know the a little terminal commands to do that)

“dpkg -i /tmp/tvout2.deb && killall SpringBoard” (without double quotes) in the iSSH to install the app.

Remember to install the cydia app “SBSetting” as well to toggle the TVOut2 ON/OFF.

Important to CHANGE YOUR Root Password immediately so that you won’t be HACKED by other if you leave your OpenSSH OPENED during Public wifi connection outdoors.

Of course if you are not comfortable in jailbreaking or using command lines to access your iPhone/iPodtouch/iPad, kindly refrain from doing it and wait for OS 4.0 by Apple.

Note: According to my testing, not all applications can TV out to the Television mostly are games with high 3D elements simply can’t tv output for now.

Cogs HD is a excellent 3D puzzle game where players slide tiles in a 2D and 3D environments.
This is very addictive puzzle game that promises hours of game play & unlimited replay value.

Player interacts with the puzzle pieces such as gears, pipes, balloons, chimes, hammers, wheels, props and more!

There are 51 levels available instead of 300 levels I mentioned in the video.

Twitterlator Pad is the ultimate way to experience Twitter on your iPad and boy am I amazed by the length on how the developer design the interface!

I had tried many twitter clients on iPad such as Tweetdeck, Twitterriffic and others but so far Twittelator seems to be a clear winner in the design department and deserve a good review.

And yes iPad had reached Singapore Parallel import market.

There are so many features

Excellent User Interface with customizable Background wallpaper

Friend’s tweets “Time line” persistently shown in landscape mode

See images preview inline your friends’ tweets

Messages are presented in chat view for previous conversations

Discover nearby twitter users

Create & manage drafts

Multiple account support

Post photo & audio recording in tweets

Auto splits up long tweets to allow longer messages!

URL shortening services

Multiple photograph storage services to choose from

EMOJI Icon (Emotion icons)

Reply ALL options

Channels to let you discover topics that you’re interested in

Slide to send so to reduce accidental sending a tweet

Geo Tagging, Insert Map

Trends with specific settings (Now, Daily, Weekly, Earth, London, Ireland, United States & etc)

There are so many hidden features that it’s hard to write them all in here.

However for every excellent products there are some things that can be improved so to give this app the perfect score.

The trends locations selections only provide few countries like London, Ireland, UK and the rest of the United States. For a truly global application, the developer have to give other countries a chance to view their trending topics as well as parallel importers of iPad already reached far away countries such as Singapore.

There are people with glasses that need a much larger font if possible give more options for a much larger font size. Maybe a slider can be used to adjust the font size instead of ON/OFF option.

There should be some themes to allow users to change the window colors if possible but retain the window’s glassy look.

The reload calls may not refresh as quickly as I preferred compared to iPhone version of Tweetie 2 which reload much more faster.

Some minor crashes when editing my own profile photograph.

This app is probably one of the most complete Twitter app on the iPad and I will be very interested on how Tweetie 2 can top that in their future iPad Twitter client.

My take on this application is that it will definitely be one of many twitter clients specially created for Apple’s latest iPad that are soon to be available in the market.

Things I wish to test out is the “Retweet” feature, is it a quote tweet & post immediately or given the option to add in further comments to the Retweet, other features that I’m interested to test is the “Follow Friday” feature that should be interesting to many twitter friends who wanted to select a number of tweeples to recommend on every Friday.

It will also be interesting to see how “custom tweeting backgrounds” shows up in the application environment, will custom backgrounds means a change in background color or images?

The only complaints on the overview of the app (since I haven’t tried it personally due to the fact that the iPad have not arrived yet here in Singapore) are the buttons arrangement & sizes of the buttons which looks awkwardly spaced out unevenly.

I do hope there will be more features other than the standard options for most twitter clients but given the available options for a native iPad twitter client for iPad, this will make the FIRST choice to get other then other twitter clients that are not native to iPad but need to be blown up in size from the iPhone application resolution.

Is there any other iPad twitter clients that I should know about? Comments below and let me know!
